CBD Benefits for Your Skin

CBD has become quite the buzz over the past few years. At first I was a bit skeptical of the product until I tried it. CBD is a component of a marijuana plant. It is taken from the hemp plant, which doesn’t contain THC. Please note you will not get high from using CBD oil.

CBD offers so many benefits not only for anxiety and sleep, but for your skin as well! Let’s take a look at some of the benefits!

1. Helps with inflammation & chronic pain

CBD has been proven to be affective when treating arthritis, eczema, back pain, psoriasis, and other inflammatory conditions. One of the benefits from CBD oil is that you don’t experience the side effects of over the counter medicines. Over the counter (or prescribed) medicines often have pretty harsh side effects.

I have arthritis in my lower back and CBD has definitely been a game changer. I like to apply CBD cream on my lower back in the morning, since that’s when my flare ups are the worst. I consider CBD natural which, to me, is better then taking some type of pill or medication.

2. Anti-aging Components

As we age, our skin loses collagen. As our skin loses collagen, it causes our skin to become loose and wrinkles begin to form. When our oil glands produce oil, it helps the skin stay youthful and wrinkle free. Our oil glands produce less oil as we age. CBD also contains antioxidants which helps slow the aging process by slowing down the loss of collagen.

There are a variety of collagen products on the market to choose from. I personally prefer Vital Proteins Collagen Powder. I like to put a few drops of my CBD oil in my collagen shakes. I also use HEMPZ CBD eye cream at night.

There are CBD face and body creams as well.

3. Helps with acne prone skin

Since CBD helps with inflammation, it can help improve acne. Since CBD helps control the oil glands, it reduces the number of breakouts. Anti-inflammatory properties also help control the oil glands. CBD has antibacterial affects which help get rid of dead skin, dirt, and other bacteria which leads to clogged pores. Clogged pores are one of main causes of acne.

Luckily I no longer struggle from acne, but my friends that do suffer from it have noticed improvements after using CBD products.
